Star Wars ‘The Mandalorian‘ Season 3 Ordered for Disney+. Reports are streaming in that pre-production for Season 3 of The Mandalorian has already begun. Having broken almost every standing streaming record for the show and raking in millions of dollars in sales of merchandise inspired by the series, it looks like Disney and Lucasfilm will be creating Mandalorian content for a long, long time.
Variety shared, “Sources close to the production have confirmed that creator Jon Favreau has been “writing season 3 for a while,” and that the art department, led by Lucasfilm vice president and executive creative director Doug Chiang, has been creating concepts for Season 3 “for the past few weeks.”
“We’ve just started pre-production and are looking into further adventures for The Mandalorian in Season 3,” revealed one source. In addition, another source with knowledge of the situation confirmed that the production design department began working on season 3 on April 20, pointing to the fact the department requires “such a huge lead time” to explain why “the gears have started grinding really early on.””
Season 2 of The Mandalorian finished production at the beginning of the year and is still slated to release on Disney+ in October 2020. Likely, Season 3 will follow the same pattern as Seasons 1 and 2 and will premiere in October 2021. Be sure to check back here at Chip and Co. for all things Star Wars!
