Longtime Disney animator Ann Sullivan has died of complications from the coronavirus in a Woodland Hills Nursing home at the age of 91.
“Ann Sullivan was a remarkably gifted and resilient woman who chased her dream of living in California and working at Walt Disney Studios and succeeded with grace and resiliency,” Nursing home president and CEO Bob Beitcher told Deadline.
Ann was born in Fargo, North Dakota, and trained at the Art Center, she got her first job at Disney in the animation paint lab in the 1950s before leaving to start a family.
In 1973, she reentered the animation world with a job at Hanna-Barbera before eventually returning to Disney in time to work on some of the most Disney films including “The Little Mermaid” and “The Lion King.”
She remained at the Walt Disney Studios until in the early 2000s, working on films like “Lilo & Stitch” and even working in computer animation before retiring.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family.
