Live Action 'Robin Hood' Remake Is In Development for Disney+

Disney’s ‘Robin Hood’ Remake Is In Development for Disney+. Oo De Lally! Oo De Lally!! A Robin Hood remake is coming to Disney+! According to THR, the film will follow the lead of the animated feature with a more musically involved story and will once again feature anthropomorphic characters, only this time in a live-action/CG hybrid format.

The film has been a fan favorite since its release in 1973, but has battled in reviews on and off for decades about the films ranking. Personally, the animated feature is a go-to in our household and is one of the movies everyone can agree on watching. Not familiar with the animated film? Check out the synopsis below:

“An amiable rooster called Alan-a-Dale (Roger Miller) tells stories and sings songs of the heroic Robin Hood (Brian Bedford) and his trusty sidekick, Little John (Phil Harris), in this animated animal-themed adaptation of the legendary story. When evil Prince John (Peter Ustinov) deputizes the Sheriff of Nottingham (Pat Buttram) to collect unreasonable taxes from the animals of Sherwood Forest, Robin, Little John and the other merry men wage a lighthearted battle against their evil foes.”

Set to direct the film is Carlos Lopez Estrada (Blindspotting) and penning the script is Kari Granlund (Lady and the Tramp (2019), Godmothered). Justin Springer (Tron: Legacy, Dumbo) is signed on to produce the film for Disney+.
