According to News Channel 8, Universal Studios Orlando plans to use 20 acres of land to create affordable housing in the Orlando area. This announcement was made just last week. This was right before requesting funds for road construction for Universal to build its third theme park: Epic Universe.
This project will aim to accommodate 1,000 mixed-use housing units. Anyone that lives in the Orlando area knows that affordable living is not easy to come by, so this is much needed.
Universal Studios is also planning on using another three acres for mass transit since the affordable housing would bring in a lot more traffic to the area.
