Celebrate the Holidays at Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa

We’ve been telling you all about the holiday happenings at the Disney resorts and parks but we can’t forget about Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa in Hawaii! At Aulani, the holidays are celebrated in true Disney fashion, with a dash of Hawaiian style. Throughout the month of December, the holiday fun includes events and activities for all ages.

Starting Dec. 1, Disney friends – including Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy – will appear around the resort in their festive Aulani holiday attire for photos and jolly greetings. Plus, all around the resort, beautiful Hawaiian-inspired holiday décor will adorn the guest areas and deck the halls.

Keiki (children) will have fun with Santa Goofy during Keiki Holiday Cookie Decorating at Aunty’s Beach House. Keiki can show off their creativity making sweet treats from Dec. 2 all the way through Jan. 3, each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. There is a nominal charge for this activity.

During ‘Ohana Disney Movie Nights (Dec. 5, 12, 16, 19 and 23) family-friendly holiday movies will be shown under the stars, on the Hālāwai Lawn.

On select days in late December, harmonious holiday songs will resonate as strolling carolers perform in the Maka‘ala Lobby and Waikolohe Valley.

If you’re lucky enough to be at Aulani during Christmas, you may look forward to a visit from Santa himself. On Dec. 24 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., Santa Claus will be at Aunty’s Beach House. Also on Christmas Eve, Holiday Cheer on the Kipuka Courtyard means complimentary hot cocoa and holiday cookies from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

On Dec. 25, there will be a very special Christmas Ka Waʻa Lūʻau – a culinary and cultural journey celebrating the legends, people and natural wonders of Hawaiʻi. Just for Christmas, there will be some additional delicious offerings on the menu. For the lūʻau, there is a charge and reservations are required.

Throughout the season, the pastry chefs of Aulani will bring a bit of cool “Frozen” fascination to the warm Hawaiian winter days, with a stunning, hand-made pastry showpiece. The display will include two giant macaron trees with over 400 glittering macarons. A white chocolate tree will be the centerpiece, decorated with over 100 Mickey Mouse gingerbread cookies. The top of the tree will be adorned with everyone’s favorite snowman, Olaf. The wintery scene will be complete with delicate sugar ice trees and snow babies frolicking in the “snow” with Santa Stitch.

Of course, the holidays wouldn’t be complete without indulgent treats to eat. This year, there are more scrumptious sweets than ever with candy cane Mickey macarons, holiday caramel apples, gingerbread spiced cream cheese coffee cake, peppermint brownies and much more, available for purchase. Plus, there will be exclusive Aulani holiday merchandise, like ornaments, so you can have a keepsake of your Aulani yuletide memories on your Christmas tree for years to come.

There are so many ways to celebrate the holidays at Aulani in Hawai’i! Will you be having a tropical Hawaiian Christmas this year?
