Disney’s Animal Kingdom recently launched their “Protect the Pride” campaign. In conjunction with the debut of the Lion King in theaters, this campaign is raising awareness of the conservation of our lion friends. In an effort to raise even more awareness, Disney’s Animal Kingdom wants guests to meet their pride of lions.
Dakari, Kamari, and Kinsey are the members of the pride at Disney’s Animal Kingdom park. Dakari, although the largest, happens to be the most gentle. Kinsey and Kamari are sisters and like to play. To get a better glimpse of this pride, you will have to ride the Kilimanjaro Safari. The best chance you have of seeing the lions will be in the morning or in the evening. During the rest of the day, the will be enjoying their cat naps.
During the opening week of Disney’s The Lion King, for every guest that rides the Kilimanjaro Safaris, the Disney Conservation Fund will donate $2 to more conservation efforts. The Wildlife Conservation Network’s Lion Recovery Fund in aiding in increasing the number of lions in Africa by the year 2050.
