The Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland is opening soon! Construction is scheduled to be completed on May 28th.
The castle has been under construction for about three months and guests are missing the magic it provides at the end of Main Street U.S.A.
Although it’s closed, Disney has put up a beautifully themed scrim in front of the castle. The scrim takes on a very 1950’s look with red and white banners and guests dressed in suits and dresses. You can also see the top of the castle peeking out in all of her glory!
Check out the photo below for a current view of the renovation.
Sleeping Beauty’s castle is being renovated as part of Disneyland’s Project Stardust. This project was created to enhance the park before Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens at the end of May.
A big thank-you to one of our locals, Eric, for these wonderful photos!

Disneyland is beautiful! I always try to picture myself in Walt’s shoes when I walk down mainstreet. I do like how they put the facade of the castle up. I cannot wait to see the refurbishment. #DisneyVacayGiveaway
I’ve never been to Disneyland (just been to WDW), but I know exactly what it feels like to walk down Main St. U.S.A. & see that beautiful castle in front of you! I try to hold back tears every time I see Cinderella’s castle. Sleeping Beauty’s castle in Disneyland is much smaller, but still is such a beautiful & magical part of the park! I love the pixie dust sparkles they put on the roof. It’s going to look AMAZING & even more magical once renovations are complete! Even though they put a scrim up, it’s just not the same until the full castle is back. #DisneyVacayGiveaway
