Disney’s live-action Lady and the Tramp will be remaking the racist Siamese Cat song thanks to actress-musician Janelle Monáe.
Variety is reporting that the Grammy-nominated performer will be contributing new music to the Live Action movie along with acting in the film.
The Siamese Cat song originally recorded by Peggy Lee from the original 1955 animated movie will reportedly be cut and Janelle Monáe will write a new track to replace the number, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Monae will also perform He’s a Tramp for the Live Action remake.
Disney’s live-action Lady and the Tramp starring Justin Theroux and Tessa Thompson is expected to premiere in November alongside the new Disney+ streaming service.

I don’t get it. Why does everything offend everyone? And what’s the difference if they say ‘She’ or ‘He’? There’s nothing wrong with the original song. Songs are much worse now, in my opinion, with the derogatory language they use!! Sometimes I hate when movies are re-made, because they ruin them with their unnecessary changes! #DisneyVacayGiveaway
The racist song is the Siamese cat song, not exactly the Tramp song. I completely understand why it’s racist. It’s not the lyrics but they way they’re spoken and the stereotypes. So…yeah. I’m interested to hear what she does to the song. #DisneyVacayGiveaway
I don’t know how that song is racist. I know the lyrics to that song and that is absurd.
HOW is changing “She’s a Tramp” into “HE’s a Tramp” making things “racially” correct or BETTER? Crazy world!!
