The production of Disney’s newest live action film Mulan is underway! Filming is happening in two locations, New Zealand and China. We have finally gotten a sneak peak of the set with Director Niki Caro. She posted to her Instagram earlier this week with the caption “Mulan. Day #1. Reflections.”
The newly named Mulan actress is Chinese born America Liu Yifei, age 30 whose previous roles were in The Forbidden Kingdom and The Assassins. The film will also feature Jet Li, movie star and martial artist from the hit film The Expendables. He will star as the Chinese emperor. This character was originally voiced by the beloved Pat Morita, the famous Mr. Miyagi in Karate Kid.
Disney’s Mulan joins a few other live action remakes including Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella and the upcoming Dumbo directed by Tim Burton.
We cannot wait for Disney’s live action film Mulan to hit the big screen in 2020!
