The building that once housed Ellen’s Universe of Energy ride has been surrounded by construction walls for a while now. Typically meant to keep guests from see unsightly refurbishment, those walls sometimes can’t hide it all. We are finally getting our first glimpses of movement behind the Guardians of the Galaxy themed barriers. The iconic mirrored tiles have been taken off of the sides of the building.
The current building will house the queue for the new Guardians of the Galaxy ride. The area that will contain the coaster itself is being built and will be attached to the back. Guardians of the Galaxy will become the longest enclosed roller coaster in the world when completed in 2021.
While we’re waiting, you have plenty of time to get those cosmo wall, Guardians of the Galaxy themed selfies in front of the former Universe of Energy. Afterwards, head over to Mouse Gear to check out all of the new merchandise!
