The suit Robert Downey Jr wore in the first Iron Man movie back in 2008 has been stolen. It was last seen in a storage facility that holds movie props in Pacoima, Los Angeles sometime in February. It wasn’t until April that the Iron Man suit, valued at $325,000, was discovered to be missing.
The Iron Man movie, based on Marvel comics, features brilliant, billionaire engineer Tony Stark. He develops the Iron Man suit as a measure against terror. The suit contains weaponry as well as jet propulsion technology, allowing Iron Man to fly. Tony Stark ends up in numerous battles with different enemies throughout the course of the Iron Man and Avengers films.
The Iron Man movie kick started the Marvel Cinematic Universe series which has since released numerous other films, involving classic Marvel favorites such as Captain America, the Hulk and Thor. The newest film, Avengers: Infinity War, has topped the box office since it was released.
LAPD is still investigating the disappearance of the famous red and gold Iron Man suit.
