The Voice of Dreamfinder, Chuck McCann, Passed Away

Chuck McCann passed away

Chuck McCann, who voiced Dreamfinder in the original Journey Into Imagination attraction at Epcot, has passed away.  McCann, who was 83, died Sunday in a Los Angeles hospital of congestive heart failure according to his publicist Edward Lozzi.

McCann was born in 1934 in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Los Angeles in the 1970s.

Not only was he the voice of Dreamfinder from the attraction’s opening until 1998, he also lent his voice to Duckworth in “DuckTales: Remastered” and Heff Heffalump in Disney’s “The New Adventures of Winnie The Pooh.”

And while it’s not Disney, he voiced Sonny the Cuckoo Bird with the famous line “I’m cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs!” for General Mills.

Chuck McCann is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Fanning, and two daughters.

The Disney community will certainly miss this incredible man and the contributions he’s made to the parks and television/film over the years.  At Chip and Co. our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
