We all remember the sad day when Ellen’s Energy Adventure at Epcot closed August of last year. Ever since then Ellen has been asking for the public’s help in tracking down “Robot Ellen” the animatronic version of herself that appeared in the attraction.
Today, for her 60th birthday, her wish came true. The writers on The Ellen Show had a card for her to read that said she would be surprised with someone very special from her past.
Although the audience found the reunion hilarious, Ellen wasn’t really laughing. “This is not real. This is the robot they used for Ellen’s Energy Adventure? … That is so offensive.” Ellen was a good sport about it but she didn’t want it hanging around one second longer than it had to.
Later a Walt Disney World spokesperson did confirm that they did not send the real animatronic to the show and that The Ellen Show writers were just having a laugh with Ellen on her birthday.
