I recently had the pleasure of having Sunday Brunch at Paddlefish in Disney Springs. Eating here has been high on my bucket list since the change over from Fultons. I had no idea they offered brunch and today was the perfect day for it!
The views of Disney Springs from Paddlefish are AMAZING! I can only imagine how it looks at night.
Like I mentioned above on Sunday Paddlefish offers a special Brunch menu. Since I was dining with 2 people with shellfish allergies the seafood menu was wide open for me.
Just click the photo to see the complete menu.
Before we dive into our entrees we opted for a couple of appetizers for the table. I heard stories about the Lobster Guacamole and Chips. They prepare it table side and I heard the chips were to die for… Since we had 2 people with shellfish allergies they are nice enough to make 2 appetizers for us, one with the lobster for me and one with out for the girls.
They make the chips in house and sprinkle them with tajin, that is the spice everyone is going crazy for and putting on their Dole Whips. Holy cow they were soooooo good!!! Honestly I could go there and get an Admirals Punch (seen above) and the Chips and Lobster Guac and just call it a day.
I would be happy as a clam sitting on the 3rd floor of the restaurant with my chips and drink, but if I did that I would miss out on these…
Fried Green Tomatoes! I am not a huge tomato person, and honestly have never tried green ones to boot, but no lie these fried green tomatoes with queso fresco have to be the best things I have ever put in my mouth. We all had one tomato and all of us wanted more. They need to make this an entree item they were that good…
So with Admiral Punch in hand, bellies a little full from our appetizers I asked our server to take away the chips and guac otherwise we would fill up on those.
Now lets move on to the entrees.
I ordered the Crab & Asparagus Benedict. If you look under that perfectly poached egg you will see delicious piece of Nueske bacon along with jumbo lump crab, smoked trout roechallah, and lobster infused hollandaise sauce. Words can’t describe how good this entree was. Seriously it was that good….
The Disney Fashionista picked “The Burger” which is not your typical burger. It was smothered in Pimento Cheese, house made pickles, onion and served on a fresh brioche bun that is made from a local baker. It was really good too but unfortunately the burger was overcooked. If you get the burger make sure to get it medium rare…
Lindsay who is one of the Disney Fashionista writers is a vegetarian she ordered the Roots & Shoots and you can read her review of Paddlefish here.
I could just end the review there and be a happy camper but like the 2 ladies I was having brunch with they wanted to finish with something sweet. The people who have dined here before have told me that you want to get the Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Tart or the Key Lime Pie. As not to offend any of my friends we opted for both.
Yes that is a piece of candied bacon on the tart above, while delicious it is not as good as my candied bacon. I have spent years perfecting mine and while very close, mine still tastes the best. The bourbon pecan tart beats anything I could make at home though. It was very good and I love the presentation, it feels like I should be eating this by a campfire.
The real winner of dessert goes to the Key Lime Pie. The toasted meringue on top puts this head and shoulders above any other key lime pie. I have even had key lime pie in the Florida keys and Paddlefish still takes home the blue ribbon. We were all stuffed at this point and I feel that I will need to come back again just for this dessert after I have my Guac & Chips.
After one of the best meals at Disney Springs we went exploring around the boat. I found out that the 3rd floor doesn’t open till 5pm but you can get a drink and go up top and sit on one of the many lounge chairs and just enjoy the day. This is a great option if you need a little break from Disney shopping.
Every day after 5 p.m. Paddlefish offers a special “Sunset Rooftop Menu” that pulls the top shareable and snackable dishes from the main menu just for the 3rd deck. And on every Friday and Saturday, there’s live music on the third deck as well. Pretty cool huh?!
I was able to get you a quick little video of the view from the top of Paddlefish.
I didn’t know what I would expect coming into Paddlefish for Sunday Brunch. I will say from the moment we walked in the door till the time we left we were treated like family. Everyone is so helpful and the food is so delicious. I know the 2 Disney Dining Credits might seem like a lot but the food speaks for itself. We had a tremendous meal, gorgeous views, and flawless service. To me that is worth its weight in gold or Disney Dining Credits.
Next time you are booking your Disney Vacation I would highly recommend putting Paddlefish on your list! You won’t be disappointed.
