Here we are again for this weeks Chip and Company Disney Week In Review. There has been, as usual, a lot of Disney news released this week as well as the usual incredible opinions and information from our wonderful writing staff. - Do you remember The Rocketeer? Well, the folks at D23 do and on June 21, 2011 they will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of the film at Hollywood’s El Capitan Theater. I hope you get a chance to attend but if not you can get the specifics by following this link.
- One thing a lot of folks look forward to in the summer is the Sounds Like Summer Concert Series at Epcot. If you are one of these people, here is the line up for this year. Remember, the concerts are included with the price of admission to Epcot.
- The Night of Joy series is once again returning to the Magic Kingdom on the nights of September 9 & 10. If you are in the area snd a fan of contemporary Christion Music, please make plans to attend. You will have a truly delightful and inspirational time. You can find the details in this article.
- Your time of the year is here Star Wars fans but if Star Wars Weekends wasn’t quite enough the re opening of the newly redone Star Tours 2 is opening on May 20th in conjunction with the first of the Star Wars Weekends events. I’d love to be there but we aren’t visiting until October this year so I’ll have to be patient.
- Do you want to work at Walt Disney World? Now may be the time to get your foot in the door because the Disney World Resort is Gearing Up for Summer Hiring. Find how you too might have a chance to become a Cast Member.
- Free Dining has returned to Walt Disney World for August and September 2011. Yes, they did it again and Free Dining is back and once again the tiered system is in use. There are a couple of additional wrinkles but you can get all the information you need by following the above link.
- Everything you wanted or needed to know about the dates and prices for this year’s Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party (we’ll be there) and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is right in this article. Both of these events are a tremendous amount of fun and tickets are available now (we’ve already ordered ours).
- Dumbo is 70 years old this year and on September 20th the 70th Anniversary Edition will be coming to BluRay/DVD/Download for everyone’s enjoyment. There is a lot of extra stuff on this edition so you may want to check it out here to see exactly what’s there.
- Disney just keeps on giving and giving. In their latest display of concern for those less fortunate, Disney has given away $72,000 in Compassionate Support for children to seven different organizations. Stay with it Disney, everyone appreciates your efforts.
- I know this might be a bit of a shocker but our pals at Disney have come up with a whole new line of products to coincide with the opening of Pirates of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. There is a lot of interesting stuff so take a look, you might just find something you can’t live without.
- Do you have an aspiring Comic Artist in your family? Marvel has introduced a competition where the winner will have their very own comic book placed as an insert in an upcoming Marvel Adventures comic book. Check here for access to the details.
- The Disney Cruise Line is headed North To Alaska. The long anticipated time has arrived and the Disney Wonder has Set Sail for its First Ever Alaskan Voyage.
