Cinderella is by far my FAVORITE Disney Movie, and it’s one that is worth adding to your DVD collection if you haven’t already (I mean, it must be good if they model a castle after her, right?). It’s also perfect for a Disney Themed Movie Night – It’s great for those of all ages, even the little ones – as it’s pretty short, and has tons of animal interaction!
Ok, so a great movie night has a few things (aside from the movie itself, of course!) – for me I would say food, drinks, and décor are at the top of my list to help enhance the theme and make the night more magical. So let’s start there!
Cinderella’s Movie Night Nibbles: It doesn’t have to be fancy or intricate (especially if you are serving kids!) but everyday foods with cute movie themed names can really add to the fun, so try these Cinderella themed snacks:
“Gus’ Cheese plate” – cheese cubes and crackers, with maybe some grapes and pepperonis on the side make a perfect “mouse themed” snack
“Cinderella’s Pumpkin Coach Dip” – an easy pumpkin dip that you can serve with nilla wafers, graham crackers, and apple slices: to make the dip, combine the following ingredients together and chill for several hours before serving: 15-oz can of pumpkin, 5-oz box instant vanilla pudding, 16-oz container of cool whip, ½ tbsp pumpkin pie spice. Sprinkle with ½ tbsp of cinnamon before serving. If you’re feeling ambitious, you can even serve it in a hallowed out pumpkin!
“Royal Ball Cupcakes” – A Movie Night isn’t complete without a sweet ending! You don’t have to do something labor intensive either – simple cake mix cupcakes with blue and white frosting make an adorable “Cinderella” Dress
“Glass Slipper Punch” – You’ll need something to quench your thirst too, so why not whip up a batch of glass slipper punch? Equal parts blue kool-aid and seven-up make a pretty and fizzy drink that would look perfect served out of clear plastic goblets. You could even go one step further and have a toast at the end of the movie when Cinderella gets her prince!
Décor – You can print your own custom movie night invites easily using some clip art, and then extend that theme on through the party itself – little signs with character pictures on them to label the food items would be perfect, and the cutlery/plates/napkins can all be blue, silver, or clear to match with the movie. Disney Cinderella party supplies can be purchased via Party City online, or if you’re feeling crafty you can head over to Pinterest’s collection of Cinderella party pins to get some DIY ideas
Feeling like going over the top? Making goodie bags for everyone to take home is the perfect way to help the fun continue beyond movie night! There are plenty of items available online via Party City, or even just fun trinkets from the dollar store would make a great treat for your guests. Some suggestions: Princess/prince crowns, magic wands, crayons and coloring books, candy, bubbles (like in the scene where she’s cleaning the floor!), mini pumpkin-shaped candies, silver/blue glittery nail polish – the possibilities are endless!
Movie nights don’t have to just be popcorn and soda anymore – you can really take your favorite movie – like Cinderella, and turn it into a party fit for royalty!
