One More Disney ‘Thing’ You Can’t Live Without – Orlando Attractions Magazine

One More Disney ‘Thing’ You Can’t Live Without – Orlando Attractions Magazine

We had just returned from our Fall visit to Walt Disney World in 2007 and like the rest of you, we were going through a very serious case of Disney withdrawl syndrome. As I was fumbling around the internet looking for just one more little bit of Disney stuff, I came across an ad for the debut of a new magazine. The magazine was called Orlando Attractions Magazine and even though there was no mention of Disney in the title it looked interesting and I figured that there would probably be a lot of Disney included. After all, when people think of Orlando and Attractions what generally comes to mind – Disney!!

That encouraged me to become a subscriber and  I have been one ever since and plan to be one well into the future. It initially started out as a bi-monthly publication but has since changed to a quarterly one. Even though it has gone to the four/year format, the quality has done nothing except get better and better with each issue. The magazine has physically improved to a heavy paper slick format as well making it a very classy publication.

It’s not all Disney but it is predominantly about the place we all know and love. It does cover all of the major and most of the minor attractions in the area and quite frankly, treats them all equally in the effort put into discussing them. Matt Roseboom and his group do an outstanding job with the magazine.

They have several continuing Departments such as What’s New Online, Photo Finds, Work In Progress, and an outstanding Feedback section along with lots of others. They also publish numerous informative and fun articles in each issue. In the issue I received today, some of these articles were: Skipper Ben’s Top 10 (things you miss most), Flip, Drop, and Fly on Florida’s Roller Coasters, New Disney Community in Development (about Golden Oak), Q&A (an interview with Marty Sklar), and New Plans for Pleasure Island (about the new Hyperion Wharf). All of these articles are very well done, plus, there are several more articles and departments in this issue. The  photography in each issue is beautifully done and there are always tons of photos on virtually every page.

Do I recommend that you look into subscribing – yes I do. If you go to the Orlando Attractions Magazine website you can find out a lot more, not only about the magazine but other things, such as a newsletter, that are available. Take the time to go to the site and see what’s available, you won’t regret it. I don’t work for the magazine or have any financial interest in it, I just enjoy the heck out of it and look forward to my quarterly issue. As always, enjoy your visit to Walt Disney World!!
