Meeting the Disney Characters is one of the highlights of visiting a Disney park. Unfortunately, the lines to meet these characters can get quite long. Luckily, there is a way to hang out with your favorite characters without the long lines – character dining.
Each of the four Walt Disney World theme parks, as well as many of the Disney resorts, offer character dining options. You can dine with Mickey and friends in the Contemporary, Pooh and friends in the Magic Kingdom, or even dine with the princesses inside Cinderella Castle! The characters will each visit your table while you’re dining. In my experience, you tend to get more time to interact with the characters at these meals. Some of the character meals even include fun activities for children, such as a parade with the characters.

We went to Disney World for the first time in august 2013. Probably too hot for us since we’re from Massachusetts. Anyways, we had character dining at the crystal palace over at magic kingdom. We love winnie the pooh and his friends. However, pooh was in a rush to get to everyone. Both pooh and tigger were popular characters. Anyways, I loved our experience with piglet the most! I had a fun film instax, which is a cute bulkier version of a Polaroid camera. He was amazed at it and we had a nice time interacting because of that. He even signed our pictures! What made me sad was we were in a rush to get back on the monorail to go back to our off site hotel. I wasn’t able to give him at least a Polaroid as a keepsake. He went a second time to our table and interacted with us. To be honest, I like our interacts with the less popular characters because they’re more patient and willing to interact with you more. I felt the guy in the pooh costume was in a bad mood and didn’t want to interact with us. My brother was 10 at that time and this guy liked younger kids. It’s sad because my brother and I tried to interact with pooh and he ignored it. I hope our next trip will be better. I think we did pretty well for our first time to Disney world. It was my first time planning this and it was close to both my mom’s and brother’s birthday when we went.
