Last week, Disney Parks officially replaced the Guest Assistance Card with the new Disability Access Service Card. Disney Parks have expressed “an unwavering commitment to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment and accessible experiences for guests.” The goal of the new Disability Access Service Card is to better assist guests with disabilities while reducing the abuse that was unfortunately occurring.
Disney Parks has modified the Guest Assistance Card program, which provided access to attractions for Guests with disabilities, in an effort to continue to serve the guests who truly need it. The new program has been designed to provide the special experience that guests have come to expect from Disney while at the same time, trying to help control abuse that was, unfortunately, widespread and growing at an alarming rate.
The new Disability Access Service (DAS) Card replaced the Guest Assistance Card on October 9, 2013. You can request a Disability Access Service Card at Guest Relations at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and the Disneyland Resort in California. DAS Cardholders will receive a return time for attractions based on the current wait time.
Disney Parks has long recognized and accommodated guests with varying needs. Guests can visit any Guest Relations location to discuss their individual situation, and Disney Parks will continue to provide assistance that is responsive to their unique circumstances.

I actually like this idea. A popular theme park in Branson, MO does their Disability Guest Card this way and it is very accommodating, convenient and easy. You just need to be aware so make sure you have a watch! I know Disney probably wouldn’t do this but the park in MO has even been known to let guests ride the ride twice in a row if the wait for traditional guests isn’t too long.
