Disney Chanukah Present

Chanukah begins this evening and this year my family and I have decided to celebrate Disney style! We will be adding small Disney touches to our celebration each evening to bring a bit of the Disney magic to the magic of Chanukah!  Here is the plan…

Night 1: We always eat latkes (potato pancakes) on the first night of Chanukah.  This year we’ll put them out on the kids plates in the shape of Mickeys.  Simple and fun.

Night 2: Tonight we’ll play the dreidel game.  This is a traditional Chanukah game played by spinning a dreidel.  Each person starts with the same number of items – coins, candy, etc.  Each side of the dreidel has a Hebrew letter that tells whether or not you lose or win more candy or prizes.  This year we’ll be playing with candy from the Goofy Candy Company that we picked up on our most recent trip to the parks.

Night 3: On Night 3, we’re going to add to our decorations by making this fun Disney dreidel from Disneyfamily.com.

Night 4: Tonight we’ll surprise the kids with gifts that we bought at Walt Disney World. We picked up Disney Uno for my little one and a Mickey Mouse watch for my older son.

Night 5: Sugar cookies – yum!  We always love to make Chanukah cookies. Tonight we’ll mix Mickey cookie cutters into the mix of traditional dreidel and menorah cookie cutters.

Night 6: The Disney gifts come in handy. Tonight we’ll be playing Disney Uno as a family.

Night 7:  After lighting the candles and opening presents, I will bring out the kids Disney autograph books from our past trips.  They are all filled with photos of the kids with the characters.  It will be fun to take a trip down memory lane.

Night 8: Those autograph books we looked through last night were just a teaser for tonight’s big gift.  We will give the kids new unwrapped autograph books to announce our next trip to Walt Disney World!  Now that’s a great present!

Do you have any special ways of bringing the Disney magic into your holiday celebrations?

Happy Chanukah! I hope you get lots of Disney gifts this holiday season.

Amy
