2011 Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade Taping

2011 Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade Taping

Every year as we approach Thanksgiving we get a ton of emails of people asking when Disney will be doing its Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade Taping, who is starring in it, and where you can get tickets.

Having done some research here is what I have found out:

  • As of today no official word has been released on where or when you can get tickets.
  • Nick Cannon, Christina Aguilera, and OneRepublic have already recorded their segments in Disneyland. Click here for more.
  • This year’s Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade tapes on December 2nd and 3rd, with the 4th scheduled as a make-up day. According to Dance the Magic Website.
  • The parade is taped in segments. So keep in mind you may see the same performance over and over.
  • If you’re primarily interested in the shows and can only attend one day, my suggestion would be to choose Friday.
  • When you go to register, it will likely say that sign up is open until a day or two before the parade.  This is technically true, but in reality tickets are snatched up right away. When it’s announced, sign up immediately!
  • In year’s past, tickets were limited to pass holders; this is no longer the case. Anyone may apply to watch the parade.
  • Even if you don’t have a ticket, you can still come into the parks and see some of the filming. I’ve heard people say they were able to watch performances pretty easily, but keep in mind that cast members will keep non-audience members out of the roped off areas.
  • Finally be flexible all dates are subject to change!

That is all I have for now. Stay tuned to Chip and Co for a full press release, announcements, and more details.

  1. It’s typically always the first Saturday of December. We were there at that time in 2007 and the crowds were crazy crazy crazy that day at the Magic Kingdom. People find out about the tapping and think they can just walk up and get a spot for the parade, but that is not true. Even if you have a spot, it’s very hard to see unless you are right on the curb. The Christmas spirit and atmosphere is amazing, but I don’t think it’s worth it with little kids to try to get a good spot for the tapping of that parade.

  2. That is the week my family will be at WDW. We planned to try to see the parade being taped, that is not a guarantee with regular park admission? I have to register and hope that we get in?
