10 Songs for a Magical Disney Workout

Disney-Playlist_Feature-Image

Do you love Disney music? Do you work out? Why not mix the two?! Here is my list for adding a little Disney magic to your next trip to the gym.

1.  “Stand Out” and “121” by Tevin Campbell from A Goofy Movie

I couldn’t decide between the two. If you’re an 80s baby like I am, you’ll remember jamming to Tevin Campbell. His most notable hits in the 90s include “Can We Talk” and “I’m Ready.” Unfortunately, his songs for A Goofy Movie aren’t available for individual download on iTunes, but if you loved these songs as much as I did, it will be worth the full album price.

2.  “When Can I See You Again” by Owl City from Wreck-it Ralph

One man electronica band, Owl City collaborated with Disney for the end credits song to the box office hit, Wreck-It Ralph. You can’t help but move when you hear its catchy beat.

3.  “Why Should I Worry” by Billy Joel from Oliver & Co

Music legend Billy Joel and Disney certainly didn’t go wrong with this song from one of my favorite Disney movies from the 80s. Though it may start a little slow, the song quickly leads to a great up-tempo music number that would make anyone want to sing and dance all over New York City.

4.  “Something That I Want” by Grace Potter from Tangled

This song is just flat-out happy. Its upbeat and sweet lyrics put a perma-smile on your face, and who isn’t more motivated to work out when you’re happy?

5.  “Another Part of Me” by Michael Jackson from Captain Eo

Captain Eo may soon be gone forever from Disney parks, but this song will always be remembered. Anytime I listen to this song, I’m immediately brought back to the sweet 80s nostalgia of this Francis Ford Coppola and George Lucas classic.

6.  “Real Gone” by Sheryl Crow from Cars

The great guitar riffs will rev your engine in this Cars classic.

7.  “Derrezed” by Daft Punk from TRON: Legacy

Let’s be real, this entire soundtrack could be played for your workout, but I like variety.

8.  “Touch the Sky” by Julie Fowlis from Brave

This song has a mild but steady beat. It’s perfect for throwing on your headphones and going for a long trail run.

9.  “The Great Divide” by The McClain Sisters from Secret of the Wings

China Anne McClain joins her sisters in this song from the Tinkerbell movie, Secret of the Wings. This selection is such an upbeat and uplifting song that continues in the tradition of great title songs from the series of Tinkerbelle movies.

10.  “Let it Go” by Demi Lovato from Frozen

That’s right, I said Demi Lovato. Idina Menzel will forever more be a Disney legend for her rendition of “Let it Go,” but Demi’s version is much more fast tempo and great for a workout.
