From the moment Disney Springs announced its re-development a re-branding, there was one stand-out venue that really seemed to capture the imaginations of Disney-fans, the steampunk -themed nightclub The Edison. The club, a sister site to the one already opened in Los Angeles promises to offer a unique Orlando experience like no other with four different concepts joined up to offer dancing, drinks, concerts and cabaret-style entertainment. There will reportedly be a performance venue, an adults-only space created in rum running tunnels underneath the building as well as The Edison offering a unique nightclub experience with a twist.
The property has experienced numerous delays and according to its website will be opening at some point this Autumn. Speculation from Disney insiders is that it will have a November launch. So how are things looking over at The Edison these days? Our very own Chip was there this week and captured the following photos.
The construction walls still remain up around the property but it looks like the facades are getting closer to completion.
However, it looks as if there is still work to be carried out in outside areas.
It also looks like entrance ways and signage are still a work in progress.
Here’s a view from the side of the venue near the bridges where the facade doesn’t look as complete as the front.
Another view from the side shows the work in progress.
Here’s another view from the front showing the construction wall still up.
So what are your thoughts? Do you think The Edison will be making its November launch date? With the pace at which the project is moving coupled with the fact that there have been no noticeable changes to the website, we wonder if we may not see the completion date get pushed back again.
Keep following along with Chip and Co. We promise to keep you posted of The Edison’s progress.
