Walt Disney World Resort Refurbishments Update for March 2013

Magic Kingdom Park

Now – March 19, 2013: Splash Mountain will be closed for refurbishment. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is the recommended alternate.
Now – May 17, 2013: Main Street Bakery will be closed for refurbishment.

Epcot

Now – Mid-February 2013: Epcot Character Spot will be closed for refurbishment. A temporary Character Spot location near the current location will be open for Guests to greet Mickey, Minnie & Pluto. The temporary location is between the restrooms and Club Cool.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Now – Feb. 13, 2013: Disney Junior – Live on Stage! will be closed for refurbishment. The recommended alternatives are: Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage, Muppet*Vision 3-D and Voyage of the Little Mermaid.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park

Now – Feb. 15, 2013: Kali River Rapids will be closed for refurbishment. Kilimanjaro Safaris is the recommended alternative.

Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park

Now – March 16, 2013: Blizzard Beach Water Park will be closed for annual refurbishment.

Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort

Now – Feb. 22, 2013: Cinema Hall will undergo handrail painting.
Now – Sept. 20, 2013: Feature icons refurbishment will occur. March 4-15, 2013: Duck Pond Pool will be closed for refurbishment. Fantasia Pool will remain open during this time.

Disney’s All-Star Music Resort

Now – Feb. 15, 2013: Broadway buildings 7 & 8 will undergo billboard replacement.
Now – Feb. 22, 2013: Melody Hall will undergo handrail painting.
Now – Feb. 22, 2013: Melody Hall star panels overlay will occur.
Now – Sept. 2013: Feature icons refurbishment will occur.

Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort

Now – March. 22, 2013: Stadium Hall will undergo handrail painting.
Now – April 5, 2013: Touchdown building 10 will undergo roof coating.
Now – June 7, 2013: Guest room soft goods replacement
Now – Sept 25. 2013: Feature icons refurbishment will occur.
Feb. 25 – March 6, 2013: Surf’s Up feature pool will be closed for refurbishment. Pargo service to the Grand Slam pool will be available.

Disney’s BoardWalk Resort

Now – March 1, 2013: Luna Park Pool will be closed for refurbishment. Guests may use the other leisure pools located next to Community Hall or on the Inn side.
Now – April 26, 2013: Boardwalk Bakery will be closed for expansion. A coffee cart will be available on the boardwalk area during this time.

Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort

Now – June 28, 2013: Jamaica Village building painting and repairs will occur.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Now – Feb. 15, 2013: Bay Lake Tower – Bay Cove Slide will be closed for refurbishment. The Pool will remain open.
Now – March 22, 2013: Contemporary Tower and South Garden Wing will undergo Guest room soft goods replacement.
Now – March 22, 2013: 12th floor Atrium, Club level concierge lounge soft goods replacement and refurbishment will occur.
Now – Sep. 21, 2013: Guest elevators will undergo enhancement.
Now – Late Summer 2013: 14th floor Suites Refurbishment. This includes a hard and soft goods refurbishment and a renovation to the concierge lounge.
Now – Late Summer 2013: California Grill will be closed for refurbishment.
Feb. 14-15, 2013: Bay Lake Tower pool deck cleaning and caulking will occur. Pool will be closed during this time. Feature pool at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will be open.
Feb. 22 – March 20, 2013: 2nd floor lobby wall covering replacement will occur.

Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort

Now – Feb. 22, 2013: Cabanas building and pool building exterior painting and repair will occur.
Now – March 1, 2013: Casitas stair/walkway concrete replacement will occur.
Feb. 14-15, 2013: Dig Site feature pool will undergo cleaning and caulking. Pool will be closed during this time. Guests may use the leisure pools around the resort.

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground

Now – Aug. 2, 2013: Cabin and camp site concrete pad repairs will occur.
Feb. 25 – Aug. 1, 2013: Home leveling of cabins may occur.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Now – February 2013: Courtyard Pool will be closed for refurbishment. The Beach Pool will remain open during this time. Beaches Pool Bar & Grill will be open.
Now – February 2013: Courtyard Pool Bar will be closed for refurbishment. Beaches Pool Bar & Grill will be open.
Now – To Be Determined: Grand Floridian Beach area is closed due to construction.
Feb. 24 – March 8, 2013: The Beach Pool Slide will be closed for refurbishment. The Poll will remain open.
March 7 – 8, 2013: Beach pool will be closed for deck cleaning and caulking.

Disney’s Old Key West Resort

Now – Feb. 15, 2013: Sandcastle Feature Pool icon painting will occur.
Now – Feb. 15, 2013: Sandcastle Feature Pool Slide will be closed for refurbishment. The Pool will remain open.
Now – Feb. 19, 2013: Buildings 13 & 14 will undergo exterior building repairs.
Now – May 19, 2013: Grand Villas wood floor replacement/awning replacement/exterior painting will occur.
Now – May 19, 2013: Hospitality House will undergo exterior building repairs.
Now – Dec. 27, 2013: Replacement of Guest ice machines will occur.

Disney’s Polynesian Resort

Now – Oct. 4, 2013: Guest room soft goods replacement will occur.
Feb. 18 – March 1, 2013: Volcano feature pool acid wash will occur.

Disney’s Pop Century Resort

Now – Sep. 20, 2013: Feature icons refurbishment will occur.
Feb. 18 -22, 2013: Class Hall porte cochere mill and overlay will occur.
Feb. 19 – March 15, 2013: Hippy Dippy Kiddie Pool deck surface replacement will occur.
Feb. 25 – 27, 2013: Bowling Pin Pool will be closed for refurbishment.

Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter

Now – March 15, 2013: French Quarter Square building brick façade corrections and refurbishment will occur.
Now – Aug. 30, 2013: Lodge buildings window frame and shutters painting will occur.

Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside

Now – March 4, 2013: Bridges and bus stop stonework vine removal and theme painting will occur.

Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa

Now – Feb. 20, 2013: The Springs bus stop concrete slab replacement will occur as refurbishment.
Now – Summer 2013: The Spa at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort will be closed for refurbishment. Guests may be referred to Senses – A Disney Spa at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort for spa services.

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

Now – March 15, 2013: Main building exterior repairs will occur.

Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts

Now – June 28, 2013: Rooftop HVAC hot water piping replacement will occur.
Feb. 1 – 12, 2013: Stormalong Bay kiddie pool slide will be closed for refurbishment.
Feb. 4 – March 1, 2013: Beach Club Villas sidewalk repair will occur.

Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort

Now – March 6, 2013: Building 31 will undergo Roof repair.
