In my family, any time is a good time to eat ice cream. Maybe you fall into that same school of thought? If so, this is the post for you! Today we are talking the best of the best when it comes to cold treats at Disney World. This list will cover a few of my favorite ice cream treats as well as a few other frozen specialties. I’m hungry just writing that. Let’s get to it!
1. Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar
When I’m at Disney World, the first thing I do is find a Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar. Okay, so maybe this top 5 cold treats at Disney World post is starting out a bit biased. I can’t help it. The lush vanilla ice cream encased in that delicious chocolate. I am obsessed. And you know what, no matter how hard I’ve tried to replicate that deliciousness outside of the parks, I just can’t. No bar touches that iconic set of ears.
2. Dole Whip
I am all about a Dole Whip! When I see that pure gold swirl of goodness, I can’t help but step up to the line. No kidding, from the time I enter Adventureland and hear that infectious Swisskapolka, I can’t help but b-line it over to the Aloha Isle stand. If you’ve never had this frozen concoction of the island persuasion, then do yourself a favor and head over. Hot day or freezing cold day, this treat is one that simply cannot be missed!
3. LeFou’s Brew
Okay, so have you ever turned your nose up at the description of a new food or drink, only to realize that it is actually delicious? I am guilty. Her’e the official description:
Frozen apple juice with a hint of toasted marshmallow and topped with all-natural passion fruit-mango foam.
When I first read that description, I’ll admit, it didn’t sound like something that I would be interested in. Luckily for my stubborn taste buds, my sister and my nephew were adventurous eaters. This slushy style drink is so refreshing. I personally couldn’t make out the toasted marshmallow notes (which is what I was skeptical about). To my surprise, it was REALLY good! It reminded me of a really amped up apple juice. The slush provided just the right cooling sensation as we waited in the queue for Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid. If you haven’t had the pleasure of enjoying this frozen favorite, head over to Gaston’s Tavern in the New Fantasyland area and order a cup of brew…LeFou’s Brew that is!
4. Ice Cream Cookies Sandwiches
Typically, I am anti a la mode when it comes to my desserts. There is a strict no touching rule when it comes to pastry and ice cream. However, there is one HUGE exception to this rule and it comes in the form of a design your own ice cream sandwich. My favorite place to pile on the ice cream and cookie perfection is at Pop Century Resort at the Everything Pop Food Court. You can also get them all over the parks! Throw out your calorie count for this cooling combo!
5. Soft Serve in a Waffle Cone
Sometimes, the best things in life are the most simple things. One of my absolute favorite ways to simply eat soft serve in a cone. While you can find soft serve ice cream cones scattered throughout Disney, my favorite places to grab a cone are Gertie’s Ice Cream of Extinction (if you can ever catch it open) as well as Crepes des Chefs de France in EPCOT’s World Showcase. I love that smooth feel and the highly portable cooling sensation!
So let’s have some shout out time! Write your favorite cool treat or drink in the comment section!
Thanks for reading and commenting!
See ya’ real soon!
