The most popular location to take a photo, a selfie or just to meet up with friends has to be The Purple Wall. Disney recently updated this curved wall with fresh paint and a new design. The Purple Wall enhancement adds a bit of artsy glam to this already awesome photo-op backdrop.
Hues of light purple dominate the color scheme of The Purple Wall enhancement. The part of the wall closest to the Tomorrowland Terrace is a solid, slightly darker, hue of violet (think violet lemonade) along a large stretch of the wall. Geometric Abstract Art is what comes to mind when I look at the middle area of The Purple Wall. The space reminds me of a piece of artwork, with the geometric design slowly fading away as you get ever closer to the entrance of Tomorrowland. The design itself has me wondering what story the Artist intended for us with The Purple Wall enhancement design.
Photos, and selfies alike, abound all along The Purple Wall. You will be hard-pressed to find a spot without a wall shadow, floor shadow or photo bomber. But it’s all in good fun. I spoke with a number of people and we were all there for the same reason; to get our photo with The Purple Wall for posts to Social Media outlets!
“Meet Me At The Purple Wall.” This phrase has become quite well-known amongst fans of Walt Disney World. The Purple Wall enancement update is drawing crowds like this group of Chip and Company Fans! On April 13th, which just so happened to be a Friday the 13th, I posted an impromptu request asking our followers to Meet Me At The Purple Wall at 5:13pm. I gave out Buttons and we asked a nice young lady to take our Purple Wall photos for us.
The Purple Wall enhancement has been the inspiration for Disney merchandise such as the “Meet Me At The Purple Wall” Magic Band. Be sure to plan your outfit to include a bit of purple in your ensemble. Purple has always been the primary color of Chip and Company so I am a huge fan of The Purple Wall enancement. I always make sure to wear a button for my purple wall selfies and photos.
The Purple Wall enhancement is what one might expect to see in a Geometric Abstraction Fine Art piece. Without a story of its own, but consisting of thousands of stories in the form of selfies and other photos posted to Social Media, The Purple Wall has become its own entity. In all of its infamous glory, this wall is sure to be a representation of many memories that will be shared to infinity, and well beyond Tomorrowland. For me, with regards to the Disney Walls, The Purple Wall will always be the wall that started it all.
