There is no denying that Walt Disney World in the summer months can be a very hot experience, but there are ways to help cool off in the summer heat! One of my favorite and affordable tricks is cooling towels, like the Frogg Toggs Chilly Pads.
Being a Florida native, I sometimes like to think I don’t need tips and tricks, I’m used to this heat! I’m stubborn, I know. But when braving the heat at a Disney event one summer, a friend of mine gave me a few of these Cooling Towels. Now I won’t travel to the Parks during the summer months without them! Chilly Pads are a cooling towel that will keep you cool for hours. This towel can absorb eight times its weight in water providing longer evaporation times than conventional towels. An internal polyester mesh reinforcing material allows it to dry you off, while it cools you down. Simply moisten the towel, wring out excess, and it starts working immediately.
I actually like to use these more than the misting fans, because they are a lot more portable. I don’t have to struggle to find a place for it when I hop on Big Thunder Mountain, and they are affordable enough to get one for everyone so there’s no fighting over them.
These are great for all kinds of other summer activities as well, so you’ll get more use out of them than just Disney. They also come in a wide variety of colors! You can get yours with Amazon Prime for under $12 with free shipping here! If you find yourself in need at the parks, they are $16.90 + sales tax, they do have some cute Mickey icons on them though!
