Solo: A Star Wars Story Weekend Box Office

Weekend box office numbers are in. Solo: A Star Wars Story ranked #1 at the domestic box office this weekend while Deadpool captured the number one spot worldwide. Here’s a look at what the weekend shook out to be!

“Solo: A Star Wars Story” brought in $29.3 million in the domestic market this weekend for a total so far of $148.8 million. In the domestic market Deadpool, in its third weekend in the theaters made $23.3 million for gross domestic box office of $254.6 million. Worldwide those two movies switched places with Deadpool brining in $64.9 million and Solo: A Star Wars Story” seeing $59.6 million.

Worldwide Deadpool has grossed $598.6 million since its release and Solo: A Star Wars Story has brought in $264.2 million.


“Solo: A Star Wars Story”  had a 65% drop this weekend.  It wasn’t totally unexpected following the film’s steady decline during the week after its disappointing debut last weekend.  In this latest release in the Star Wars franchise, we get to board the Millennium Falcon and take a journey to a galaxy far, far away with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo befriends his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and meets the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.

The film stars Alden Ehrenreich, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Joonas Suotamo, and Paul Bettany. Solo: A Star Wars Story was directed by Ron Howard and produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Allison Shearmur and Simon Emanuel. Lawrence Kasdan, Jason McGatlin, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller serve as executive producers. The screen play was written by Jonathan Kasdan & Lawrence Kasdan.
