Review: "LEGO The Incredibles" Video Game

“LEGO The Incredibles” video game is making this summer even more SUPER at our house. The new game featuring the Parr family made its debut on June 15th, not so coincidentally on the same day Incredibles 2 made its way to theaters. My family decided to make it an Incredible day by first seeing the movie and then heading straight home to reenact our favorite scenes in LEGO form.

LEGO The Incredibles

I have two boys ages 6 and 9 and they absolutely loved this game. They can choose to be their favorite Parr family character working to fight crime using their amazing superpowers. Of course after seeing the movie they both fought over who was going to be Jack-Jack! We have enjoyed many LEGO video games in the past and for better or for worse The Incredibles release seems to use the same formula for gameplay as previous LEGO games.

You begin by playing through the storyline of Incredibles 2 focusing mainly on Elastigirl as she’s trying to take down Screen Slaver and save the brainwashed heroes. I highly recommend seeing the movie first as the game is one big spoiler alert. Once completed you move on to the storyline of the original Incredibles movie with the focus here being on Mr. Incredible as he struggles between being a hero, a good father and of course taking down Syndrome.

Lastly, you move onto an open-hub world for a free-play experience. It’s here that you work to rid the city of crime, complete action-packed side missions and defeat iconic Super Villains that control the city districts.

All-in-all I give this game a thumbs up. It isn’t groundbreaking in its gameplay formula but it is sure to entertain the whole family.

The game is available on consoles including Nintendo Switch™, PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One, and PC. “LEGO The Incredibles” the video game is currently rated ‘E 10+’ (Everyone 10 and older).
