It’s a Small World

world

It’s the “happiest cruise that ever sailed”, and of course it’s found at the most magical place on Earth!  It’s a Small World is located in Fantasyland, and it is a must do attraction!  You’ll enjoy the sweet children from around the world who sing the happy tune while you sail along, visiting many countries from around the world.  Suddenly, as you exit, everyone is dressed the same, yet enjoying their cultural differences.

  • It’s a Small World is a great attraction for the whole family.  There is no height requirement, and taking your little one for a sail on the “happiest cruise that ever sailed” is a memory you’ll always cherish.
  • The ride lasts about 10.5 minutes, and the wait time is minimal.  Boats load quickly, and you can relax in the air conditioning.
  • Each boat holds about twenty people.
  • If your boat is stopped in a “traffic jam”, make sure you keep your little ones seated.  Enjoy the sights and sounds, along with the air conditioning, before venturing back out to tour the Magic Kingdom.

It’s a Small World is an attraction you’ll want to visit again and again.  Everyone in your family will love it, and you’ll find yourself returning to it again and again!

Quick Tip:  When your boat is ready to sail, look up.  You’ll see a window to Pinocchio’s Village Haus, and you can wave to the guests eating inside.

Overall, we give this attraction an “A+”.

  1. Hey guys its me Miliana! My 3 year old daughter Sahvana loves this ride. The ride is great for children 6 and under but it gets pretty boring for anyone older then that. My 11 year old son Chase despises this ride and so does my husband, Riko. The tune can get stuck in your head but children love it. Overall I would rate it a C+. I hate the boat jams and my neice, Lindy knows what i’m talking about.

  2. What is there not to love about ‘it’s a small world’.. seriously, it’s a classic family favorite, the staple of what was and is Disney.. Yes the song gets stuck in your head for a while, but it’s the sweetest thing ever, and especially for kids when they see the little dolls and all the fun, colorful, exciting ways Disney has depicted all the countries, it’s a learning experience to. I think parents should make it a fun like game to go through the ride and try to have your kids guess the countries. In my opinion, it’s great! Yes it’s not an exhilarating roller coaster ride like Space Mountain, Splash Mountain or Big Thunder Mountain.. but if you go on it with that mentality, then you won’t enjoy the ride.. It’s a nice, relaxing, cute, fun ride that the whole family can enjoy.. besides, a little variety goes far, not everyone wants fast going, heart pounding rides ALL the time. 😉

  3. Ok ride. My kids don’t mind it. Getting STUCK in the boat line towards the end is annoying. I wouldn’t go so far as rate it A+ comparing it with other rides. Nice nap ride.

  4. Another classic! Kids of all ages will love it because of the music, colors, and overall brightness. Adults will love it because it takes you back to the time you were a kid.

  5. Another ride I still remember from age 2, in 1982 (so yes people, your kids will remember and no you do not have to wait for WDW until they are 5), this ride never gets old to me, because its an original and is the basis of one of my earliest memories. The line moves fairly quick, and it is a long ride once you do get your turn. When my daughter was young we would ride this after lunch because it was so peaceful she would fall asleep. So many things to see and point out that its wonderful for the very little ones as well. Several hidden Mickeys to search for also.

  6. I think this ride gets a bad rap at times because people complain about the repetition of the song getting stuck in their head. However, I LOVE this ride! It is so happy-making! I would ride this over and over if I could. The one downside I can say is the long wait time. I think it should be eligible for Fast Pass!

  7. I love It’s a Small World ride!!! Some of my fondest memories from Disneyland and Disney World come from this ride….from going on the “cruise” numerous times with my nieces and singing the song to my brother no stop to staying on the ride to let my little one take a nap so he could enjoy the rest of his day at the park.

  8. This is my dd favorite ride and it was mine as a child as well! I remember riding this in Disneyland back in 1970.

  9. We love this ride and my mom loved this ride when she went the one and only time because she past the following year!

  10. One of my all-time favorites! I love the look of wonder on my child’s face as we sailed through each area!

  11. Such a fun rider for the family, it is a must every visit. The song just makes you smile when you hear it!!!

  12. This is a fun family ride, however I was disappointed with how much shorter it was than the original in Disneyland.

  13. This is one of my favorite rides at Disney. Everyone should ride it at least one time if not more 🙂

  14. This is one of my favorite rides at Disney. Everyone should ride it at least one time if not more 🙂

  15. I agree that this is a classic and must do ride at WDW, but does any one else think that it needs a little TLC in the maintence department. (I went in Jan. 2013 and was a little shocked at the condition)

  16. I love this ride I have been riding this ride since I was a little girl and when my kids came along I had to take them on it and now Im 48 years old and I still LOVE this ride. Its a Must Do ride !!!!
