Downtown Disney

Downtown Disney

Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World Resort is Disney’s retail, dining and entertainment district away from the theme parks and resorts. Downtown Disney is divided into three separate but interconnected areas: Downtown Disney Marketplace, Pleasure Island and Downtown Disney West Side.

Like the rest of Walt Disney World, Downtown Disney is always in the process of changing and growing. So let’s explore in more depth some of the current places that make Downtown Disney a destination worth visiting. Our writer Debra will be happy to take you on a tour.

Want to have some fun at Downtown Disney attractions or experiences? You catch a movie, live music, Cirque du Soleil show – even a balloon flight. Or you might immerse yourself in video games and virtual reality at DisneyQuest. Children can even take a ride on the carousel or kiddie train.

In the mood for food? Downtown Disney offers a number of venues to please your palate, from ice-cream and candy snacks to casual fare to fine dining. Enjoy a quick bite at Earl of Sandwich, dine with the dinosaurs at T-Rex, or enjoy a contemporary twist on Irish cuisine at Raglan Road. Or relax with a drink or two at one of the lounges. Those options, and many more, are part of Downtown Disney’s appeal as a social gathering spot.

Or if you’ve got the urge to shop while at Walt Disney World, Downtown Disney is a must-visit destination. Its stores offer a wide range of Disney merchandise, including the famous Mouse Ears, as well as several specialty shops and boutique stores.

With no admission fee, Downtown Disney is a good way to spend a day away from the parks. It offer a little something for everyone on its 120 waterfront acres While its three areas are connected by walkways, that’s a lot of ground to cover. Luckily, parking is both ample and free and Walt Disney World even offers free transportation from and to its resorts.
