Boatwright’s Dining Hall

Port Orleans Riverside
Port Orleans Riverside

The sit down restaurant on Port Orleans property is Boatright’s Dining Hall.  Themed like a renovated boat workshop and serving southern-American dishes the menu has a little bit of everything.  If you are staying at either resort and have the time a stop here is a great use of a resort day.  It would also be a nice meal to pair with a relaxing carriage ride reservation around the Port Orleans property for an evening “at home”.

You will find a variety of menu items, as well as a kids’ menu.  Cajun crawfish bites, gumbo, and jambalaya grace the menu here.  If you aren’t in the mood for Cajun food, you’ll find seafood, chicken, and prime rib.  Reservations are a suggested, and it’ll use one Table Service Credit if you are using the Disney Dining Plan.  You can find their full menu HERE.

Overall, we give Boatwright’s a “B+”

  1. We stay at Port Orleans Riverside whenever we go to Disney. We hadnt eaten at Boatwrights in several years and decided to try it this time on the day we checked in so we could rest and just enjoy our resort. Our dinner we had was amazing! We have some food allergies and had put that on our reservations and the chef came out to our table and asked what we could and could not have. They made their dish to accomodate our allergy!!! It was relaxing, and the service was amazing. I totally agree with the other post that you are not rushed at all and they were very busy. I felt comfortable and was treated wonderfully 🙂 We enjoyed it so much that we ate there two other times during our trip. I highly recommend Boatwrights to all… and then stay for Bob Jackson’s wild piano show next door after dinner 🙂 What an amazing time….

  2. On our last trip this past October there was only one day that we did not have ADR’s for, we thought we would just play one day by ear. After a leisurely day, we were feeling tired and decided to stay at our resort (POR) and see if we could get a table at Boatright’s.Since it is a small restaurant we weren’t sure if they would be able to accommodate us without a reservation, but were very pleased and excited when they did. We had never eaten there before. We have been going to WDW for years and over the last few years the food has become increasingly better. We ate at several of our favorites during the week (Coral Reef, Rose and Crown, Liberty Tree, Brown Derby) but I have to say that my meal at Boatright’s was the absolute best meal I had all week. I had a beef tenderloin special and it melted in my mouth. Our server was excellent (a young man), friendly, funny and personable. The hostess checked for food allergies before we were even seated and the chef stopped by to be sure we were enjoying our dinner. The atmosphere is quiet, we were never rushed and since we saving our dining credits to use 2 for the Fantasmic Dinner Package, we were pleasantly surprised that the cost was not outrageous. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone staying at either Port Orleans or even for someone staying elsewhere that would like a nice evening walking through the grounds after dinner and then take a great leisurely boat ride to Downtown.
