Kona Cafe is located upstairs in the Great Ceremonial House of the Polynesian resort. Here you can sit down for a restaurant meal, but feel free to ask for the sushi menu from the bar adjacent. The feel of the restaurant and the menu is Asian infused American dishes and the food is delicious. Kona Cafe currently participates in the Disney Dining Plan and will count as one table service credit per member of your party. What is really fun about Kona Cafe is the dessert show. Basically, the chefs prepare your dessert right in front of you at their Onstage Pastry Kitchen.
Kona Cafe is a fun stop, and if you want a nice sit down meal with a little fun, then you’ll want to dine here. You can find their full menu HERE. This is where you will find the famous Tonga Toast that everyone talks about!
Also, Kona Island located near the monorail stop is also a quick stop for some coffee (Kona of course) in the morning, and a sushi bar in the afternoon/evenings.
Overall, we give Kona Cafe an “A”.
One word. Tonga Toast!!! OMG sooooo good!!! Food was good, service was ok but really cold in there in the morning!
Kona is my favorite restaurant to eat breakfast at! Some tonga toast and kona coffee is a great way to start a magical day at Disney World.
We love to eat at Kona. Great food and atmosphere!
‘Ohana is a must, but Kona is a great second!
Kona is one of the best places for a solo traveler to find a seat and a yummy meal. The are plenty of tables near the coffee bar/ monorail windows . The servers will let you order sushi and most anything from the regular Kona menu up until 10 pm. They are all very friendly, and have never forgotten to check on me when I am dining alone.
We ate at Kona Cafe last year for the first time and we will definitely go back! It is delicious! We planned it so that we could head out to the beach right after dinner to watch the water parade and Wishes!
Kona is the most underrated restaurant on property. Our food is always hot and fabulous, service outstanding and not rushed like everywhere else. It’s a great break from the MK.
We make a point of eating here each time we go to WDW, whether we are staying at the Polynesian or the Beach/Yacht Club. We have always had great meals and the desserts are phenomenal. Usually there are large chocolate carvings to see, too! Last time there was a chocolate Stitch!
Kona is by far, hands down, the best overall restaurant in WDW. Location, prices, quality and taste of food, everything is fantastic!
We are going to try Kona for Christmas breakfast this year! Can’t wait!
We are going the end to September to celebrate our daughters 40th birthday, and my favoriate part is eating the wings at Kona’s, we always eat there twice so I can eat the wings, the best in the world, ok, country. Yummy. Since our grandson has a peanut allergy when we eat there the chef comes out and talks to our daughter, extremely nice people throughout the Disney parks for anyone with life threatening allergies.
I look forward to dinner at Kona more than anything else in all of WDW. It offers the best of the Poly (laidback attitude, great cocktails, beautiful surrounding area) without the hassles and chaos of eating at Ohana.
