Currently, the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disney World inside the Magic Kingdom is currently closed for a refurbishment. As announced last Summer, the Pirates of the Caribbean rides at Disney Parks around the world were being updated to remove one particular scene from the ride… The infamous auction scene.
Now, it appears that Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland is up next on the list for the auction scene to be removed. The Disneyland website shows the ride will be closed as of April 23. There is no opening date posted as of now but Pirates at the Magic Kingdom is set to reopen on March 18 which is approximately three weeks after it closed. The same time frame should be expected for the ride at Disneyland.
The Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland Paris was refurbished and reopened with the removal of the auction scene last year.
