If you had a random park ticket show up on your My Disney Experience Account yesterday, you aren’t alone! Several Disney fans hit the message boards with excitement yesterday saying they had Disney World tickets show up that they hadn’t purchased. Tickets showed up in various forms such as some with the Park Hopper option and some without. Some said the tickets would only show in their mobile ap vs. showing on the website. One thing all of the tickets had in common was that they all had an expiration date of December 31, 2018.
Now, I’m here to be the bearer of bad news…. Unfortunately, Mickey wasn’t feeling extra generous yesterday and decided to give away tickets to some of his biggest fans. The mysterious tickets showing up were just due to a system glitch.
Thoughts are that this glitch was due to the recent update to the My Disney Experience app. Read more about the new update and all of the new features offered, HERE.
Disney confirmed that these tickets were not real and were not able to be redeemed. It is unknown if anyone actually tried to redeem their phantom ticket!
