Just announced this morning from Bob Chapek, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, Disney will be releasing the opening date of Toy Story Land in Hollywood Studios at this year’s D23 Expo! The image above is the new logo for the land.
Toy Story Land was first announced for Hollywood Studios at the 2015 D23 Expo so it only seems fitting that the opening date will be announced during the Expo this year.
The new land is 11 acres and includes two new attractions and a new entrance for an expanded Toy Story Midway Mania! Construction on Toy Story Land began on April 3, 2016.
The first attraction is a Slinky Dog themed family coaster. The story goes that Andy used his “Mega Coaster Play Kit” to build around his backyard, and then put Slinky Dog on the track.
Take a look at the concept video of Slinky Dog Dash:
“Alien Swirling Saucers”, Toy Story Land’s second attraction, will have guests rotating around toy planets and satellites as the little green aliens try and capture your rocket toy vehicle with “The Claw”
The 2017 D23 Expo is scheduled for July 14-16, 2017. You can be sure that Chip and Co. will be announcing all the big news from the event. So stay tuned!
