From Marvel Studios comes the eagerly anticipated “Avengers: Infinity War,” the third installment in the “Avengers” franchise and 19th Marvel Studios film to date. The release also marks the 10-year anniversary of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which began with the release of “Iron Man” in 2008.
“Avengers: Infinity War” picks up as the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, but a dangerous menace has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, Thanos will stop at nothing to collect all six Infinity Stones in his quest to wield unimaginable power and his twisted will on all of humanity.
Assembling a team that includes members from every Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise, the Avengers and their Super Hero allies must sacrifice like never before in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe. An unprecedented cinematic journey 10 years in the making with the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe in play, “Avengers: Infinity War” brings to the screen the ultimate, deadliest showdown of all time.
Paul Bettany joked during the press day for Avengers: Infinity War that, “snitches get stitches,” when it came to spoilers and talking about the film. Well, nothing could be closer to the truth during the press junket for Marvel Studio’s nineteenth — and possibly most important — film in their ever expanding cinematic universe. Hosted by none other than the Grandmaster himself, Jeff Goldblum, we were treated to an hour long conversation with the cast and directors that was both wildly entertaining, while also being incredibly secretive.
While much of the cast remain tight lipped on the film, one thing was incredibly clear during the press day for Avengers: Infinity War: this cast had a blast working together to make this film, and they think they’ve made something truly special. This film is the culmination of ten years worth of storytelling for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it truly felt like an event to be with all these actors who have been a part of this universe for so long. Both newcomers and veterans of the series seemed proud of their work, and they can’t wait for audiences to see it.

As Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Infinity War” gets set to blast into U.S. theaters on April 27 with pulse-pounding, high-octane action, directors Anthony and Joe Russo offer their thoughts on what audiences can expect.
“Audiences are going to see a new dimension of their heroes in this film,” says Anthony Russo. “One that deals with challenges in ways that they haven’t had to in the past and one that deals with consequences that they haven’t had in the past. The takeaway is going to be, ‘Wow, Super Heroes are people too.’ I also hope that we have brought an even more human expression of these characters to the table, and I hope that audiences feel that.”
“I don’t think that audiences have seen anything on this level of intensity with this level of stakes and ramifications in the Marvel Cinematic Universe before,” concludes Joe Russo. “There’s nothing comparable to it. If Marvel has been writing a book for the last ten years, these are the final chapters of the book. And there’s finality, and there will be endings. And there will be new beginnings.”
