There’s much excitement going on at the Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace! On the heels of a multi-million-dollar property overhaul, Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace – Disney Springs Area announces their elevated food and beverage program by debuting a new casual poolside restaurant, Shades; three-meal restaurant, Letterpress; lobby bar and outdoor terrace, Sunnies; and gourmet grab-n-go market, Citrus28. In addition, a few Walt Disney World Resort perks have been extended to this hotel!
Shades features approachable, fresh American cuisine with coastal Florida flavors, alongside hand-crafted cocktails with local ingredients. Specialty dishes include Key West-style shrimp cocktails, Gulf Shores blackened salmon salad, pan roasted local fish, coastal fish tacos, poolside Kosher dog, and classic Florida Key Lime pie. Shades offers a selection of eight local beers from Debary, Orlando, Tampa and Fort Lauderdale through its partnerships with Funky Buddha Brewery and Central 28 Beer Company. The property recently partnered with Florida-based Central 28 Beer Company to produce an exclusive beer for hotel guests, the ‘Citrus 28.’ With the brewery remaining true to their hop forward approach and using the finest ingredients, the American Pale Ale’s signature ingredient is real grapefruit. Shades is open from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm and will host live music every Saturday.
Shades joins the property’s other newly debuted culinary establishments including the three-
meal, alphabet-themed restaurant, Letterpress, which boasts dangling alphabet letters as décor, eclectic children’s knick-knacks such as a massive chalkboard, alphabet pillows, rubber duckies and letter games, as well as panoramic views of Blake Lake and the new float lagoon lazy river. At Letterpress, guests can enjoy the feel and design of a modern printing shop in a bright white and green color palette while dining on classic American fare, seasonal favorites, and extensive three-meal menus with Pinterest-worthy dishes including seasonal Florida whole
roasted snapper and the double cut jumbo pork chop. Every Sunday, families can enjoy a brunch in the heart of all the magic and experience the Disney Character Breakfast with meet-and-greets with Walt Disney World’s most cherished characters. Letterpress is open from 7:00 am to 11:00 am for breakfast and from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. for dinner.
Steps from the main lobby overlooking the Float Lagoon is Sunnies, an expansive bar and warmly inviting lounge where guests can catch up on sports games or enjoy a drink such as the maple old fashioned on the outdoor lobby terrace. Sunnies is open daily 4:00 pm to 12:00 am.
Citrus28 is a gourmet, brightly-colored, grab-n-go market and café featuring Starbucks coffee, freshly prepared light meals, casual bites and local favorites prepared daily. The vibrant shop features a retro-themed, nostalgic candy bar with a variety of 90s-themed toys, gadgets, and beloved sweet treats.
Chef Darren Molnar is the executive chef on the property and Sean Riebau is the newly appointed director of food & beverage, who oversees the execution of all food & beverage outlets including Sunnies, Letterpress, Shades, Citrus28, the resort’s pools, catering and in-room dining. John Seegers is the most recent addition to the culinary team and in his new role, Chef de Cuisine John is charged with overseeing the hotel’s six a la carte dining options.
