Our friends at WDW Magic have reported that earlier this morning height test balloons were spotted over the Future World area of Epcot. Specifically near Ellen’s Energy Adventure in The Universe of Energy, where it has been rumored that a new Guardians of the Galaxy attraction is going to be constructed. The height test balloons are used to mark points of buildings before they are constructed, that allow the imagineers to visualize the impact/views/obstructions a new building can impose once completed.
It looks as though instead of just replacing Ellen’s Energy Adventure with the new attraction like they did with Frozen taking over Maelstrom, that the Guardians are about to get their very own brand new building and attraction, while Ellen’s Energy Adventure may be getting the boot.
Disney has not commented on the balloons or the rumors of a Guardians of the Galaxy attraction/ride. What do you think?
