Your Guide to 2017 Food and Wine Festival Special Events

 

Epcot’s International Food & Wine Festival is a little over a month away and will be running from August 31st to November 1st.   The longer run-time  means even more opportunities for guests to enjoy special seminars, workshops and tasting events.  We’re excited to share with you a rundown of the special events on offer at this year’s Festival.

Mix it make it


Mix It, Make It, Celebrate It! – These hand-on workshops are a favorite of ours here at Chip and Co and their eclectic range means there’s something for everyone including: sushi making, cake decorating, wine pairing and more.  The schedule hasn’t been released for these fantastic offerings just yet but what we can tell you is that they’ll take place at the Chef’s Showcase in the Festival Center on Monday through Thursdays from 12.15 PM to 1.20 PM and the cost is $49 per person.  A valid Epcot park ticket is required.

What’s Cooking With…. During these special workshops a celebrity culinary guest take visitors through how they make some of their favorite dishes followed by a Q&A with the audience.  Its a great way for those interested in the culinary arts to learn some tricks of the trade from the masters.  The events take place at the Chef’s Showcase at Festival Center on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the Festival and cost $129 per person (tax and gratuity not included).  An Epcot theme park ticket is also required for entry.

Epcot Food & Wine Seminars

Party for the Senses –  Definitely one of the most popular events at Festival time, the Party for the Senses is wonderful night full of culinary delights, entertainment and fun for all.  A nice change on past year’s events is also that this year all ticket holders are guaranteed seats which means no longer having to precariously juggle your wine and dinner plate.

Here’s a list of the parties that will be taking place this year:

Prepare to be dazzled as these Master Chefs shine! During this one-time event, dine on an incredible array of dishes from the finest eateries in Disney Springs—the dining, shopping and entertainment mecca designed for Walt Disney World Guests and food connoisseurs alike.

Party for the Senses Featuring Chefs from Disney Parks
Embark on a flavorful evening while sampling global cuisine with the pros! For one night only, Disney Chefs will gather together to lead Guests on an unforgettable gastronomical journey. Each tasting station will feature dishes that best represent their country, culture and the Disney theme park they call home. It’s a culinary adventure you won’t want to miss!

  • World ShowPlace Events Pavilion
  • October 21, 2017
  • 7:15 PM to 10:00 PM for Wine View Lounge
  • 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM for Reserved Seating and Guaranteed Seating

The events take place at World Showplace Pavilion on September 23, October 7, October 14, October 21 and November 11.  Further details on all of the events should be released shortly.  Prices range from $179 to $329 per person depending on the seating tier.

Wine and Cheese Pairing Seminars – These tasty seminars give guests an opportunity to expand their palate an learn from notable cheese experts from around the globe.  The seminars take place at the Chef’s Showcase in Festival center on select Saturday’s from 9:45 am – 11:15 am.  The cost is $89 per person including tax and gratuity. A valid Epcot park ticket is required to participate.

Brunch with a Twist – For those who love a good brunch head on over to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa for this special dining event.  This year’s event with take place at Citricos on select Saturdays starting at 12:00 PM throughout the Festival.  The cost is $169 per Guest – plus tax and gratuity.   The dates for this years event are September 16th and October 28th.

The Secrets of Flavor – Disney’s Contemporary Resort also holds a similar brunch event on Select Sundays from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm.  Its held at the Contemporary Catering Kitchen and the cost is $129 per guest (including tax and gratuity).  This even twill run on October 1, 8 and 15th.

Culinary Adventures with a Master Chef – Another wildly popular event at Food & Wine Festival, guests have an opportunity to roll up their sleeves, get into the kitchen and brush up on their skills with a Disney Master Chef.  The event takes place at The Convention Center Chef’s Table from 6 PM – 9 PM on selects dates and costs $259 per guest plus tax.  The event will run on the following dates.

  • September 22
  • November 1

Behind the Scenes at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto –  Rum lovers and Trader Sam’s fans won’t want to miss a chance to indulge in this special behind the scenes tour where you’ll learn about the Grotto’s unique history, get to sample tasty dishes and taste more than your far share of delicious libations.    You’ll even get a souvenir mug to commemorate the occasion.  The event takes place on select Wednesdays from 12 PM – 2:3o PM.  The cost is $129 per guest plus tax and takes place on the following dates:

Mexican Tequila Lunch –  The perfect opportunity for visitors to enjoy south-of-the-boarder cuisine paired with tequila.  The event is hosted at La Hacienda de San Angel at the Mexican Pavilion on select Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 12:00pm to 1:3opm.  The cost is $85 per guest and will be held on the following dates:

Italian Food & Wine Pairing Luncheon – Gather in the amazing rustic wine cellar of Tutto Gusto and enjoy a hearty combination of Italian Cuisine with the perfect wines to accompany them.  The event takes place on select Mondays and Wednesdays from 12pm – 2:30pm.  The cost is $99 per guest and the luncheon will be held on the following dates:

  • September 6, 11, 13, 18, 20, 25 and 27
  • October 2, 4, 9, 11, 16, 18, 23, 25 and 30
  • November 1, 6 and 8

Via Napoli

Italian, Food, Wine vs. Beer Pairing – At this special luncheon event at Via Napoli, guests get to sample regional dishes in a 5-course gourmet meal with each selection being expertly paired with an Italian Wine or craft beer.   The event takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30pm – 4:00pm. The cost is $88 per guest plus tax and the luncheon runs on the following dates:

French Family Meal Traditions – Monsieur Paul is host to this wonderful French-inspired luncheon where guests get to sample some of Chef Paul’s treasured family recipes.   Guests also receive the  The Best of Paul Bocuse, a step-by-step recipe book filled with gorgeous food photography so you can try out your hand at making these dishes at home. The event runs on select Fridays and Sundays from 12:00pm to 3:30pm.  The cost to attend is $95 per guest and runs on the following dates:

  • September 29
  • October 1, 6, 8, 13, 15, 20, 22, 27 and 29
  • November 3 and 5

Parisian Afternoon – Also being held at Monsieur Paul on select dates is this delightful mid-afternoon dining options which includes finger sandwiches, macaroons, petit fours while you sip on bottomless mimosas. Its the perfect afternoon indulgence that won’t spoil your dinner appetite.  The event is held on select Saturdays from 1:30pm – 3:30pm and costs $55 per guest plus tax.  The dates are as follows:

The Hibachi Experience – Fans of Teppan Edo won’t want to miss this fantastic luncheon.  Be blown away by the restaurant’s performing chefs while enjoying the 6-course culinary event.   Here you’ll sample dishes from the Miyazaki Prefecture located in Southern Japan famed for its Wagyu beef, fresh seafood and free-range chicken. The event takes place on select Mondays from 4:00 pm to 6:00pm and the cost is $180 per guest.  The lunch is offered on the following dates:
  • September 18 and 25
  • October 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30
  • November 6 and 13

Katsura Grill

Japanese Craft Beer Tasting –  Learn all about Japan’s micro-brewing techniques during this amazing luncheon.  Guests will be treated to 6 traditional Japanese dishes while enjoying a flight of authentic craft beers.    The event runs on select Wednesdays from 1:15pm to 2:15pm and costs $80 per guest.   The dates for this luncheon are as follows.

A wine is carefully selected to accompany each course and there is also a complimentary tea ceremony taking place at the end of the meal.  The event takes place at Restaurant Marrakesh on select Tuesdays from 3:30pm to 5:30pm.  The cost to attend is $62 per guest and will run on the following dates:

Parisian Breakfast – The perfect start to any Food and Wine Festival day, guests are invited to sip cappuccino, indulge in a sparking mimosa and tuck in to an amazing breakfast buffet that includes baked goods from pain au chocolat to a baguette with tartine.  This breakfast experience takes place at Chefs de France on Saturdays from 9am – 10:30 am and costs $40 per person plus tax.  The dates are as follows:

Reservations can be made via My Disney Experience or by calling 407.WDW.FEST beginning on July 18th for DVC members, Annual Passholders, Tables in Wonderland Members and Golden Oak Residents. Booking opens to the general public on July 20th.
