Navigating around Walt Disney Disney Resort just became a whole lot easier. The”Get Directions” feature is now available on the My Disney Experience app, which is available for download or update via the app store.
Guests can select any attraction, character, restroom, resort, restaurant or shop and then choose “Get Directions”. You will then be prompted to enter your starting location. The new feature provides step by step directions whether you’re walking, taking a bus, water taxi or arriving by car. The app will also provide turn by turn directions while you’re in the park by tracking your location with a GPS signal.
The example above shows how to get from Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom to Haunted Mansion in Liberty Square. It would take an estimated 4 minutes to walk between the two attractions.
Travelling from resort to resort can be a bit tricky and guests should allow plenty of time in order to arrive to their reservation on time. A guest staying at Disney’s Pop Century Resort with a dinner reservation at Boma – Flavors of Africa should allow at least 60 minutes travel time in order to get to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.
In the example above, it is suggested that the guest board a bus at Pop Century that is heading to Animal Kingdom theme park. They should then board another bus from Animal Kingdom heading to Animal Kingdom Lodge, where the restaurant named Boma is located.

Make sure to mention one needs the Lollipop (Android 5) software version on their phone to make it work. Those with the Kit Kat version (Android 4.4.4), like myself, are out of luck.
