Jennifer Lee wrote and help direct “Frozen“, so we know she does amazing work. Her new project is a Disney adaptation of “A Wrinkle in Time”.
She will write the adaptation of the book for a Disney movie. “A Wrinkle in Time” is about children who travel through time and go to strange worlds because they are trying to find their missing dad who happens to be a scientist.
“A Wrinkle in Time” was one of Jennifer Lee’s favorite novels growing up. Disney Execs were impressed with her views on the project, so they gave it the green light. It will emphasize a strong female-driven narrative and approach the science fiction parts of the book.
There is no director as of right now. We do know that Jim Whitaker and Catherine Hand will produce it.
“A Wrinkle in Time” is the first book in L’Engle’s “Time Quartet” series. The series also includes “A Wind in the Door,” “Many Waters,” and “A Swiftly Tilting Planet.”
The original book was published in 1962.
