Oh My Disney, boys and girls! It’s Anonymouse here…I’ve been scurrying around internets to find you this latest bit of Disney Gossip. Today I might have uncovered, thanks to a little help from a friend information on when Free Disney Dining might be released!

The Cast Members are all atwitter with news of Free Dining coming back! That’s right, folks…FREE DisneyDining! It’s speculated to be September (fall) time frame similar to last year. Official news is expected sometime in the next week or so.

The reason for the release is due to vacation bookings are down for this fall so in efforts to boost them back up Disney is going to play the Free Dining Card.  If you remember Chip has been saying for years that Disney will do away with Free Dining, but the caveat is only if sales remain high. I guess we will see.

I’ll be booking my Travel now with one of the Chip and Co Travel Agents from Destinations in Florida. Once FREE Dining is released, my wonderful Travel Agent will automatically apply FREE Dining to my Vacation Package. I can’t wait!

What do you think about FREE Dining? What dates are you hoping for? Please leave a comment in my comment section below.

Anonymouse searches the internet, annoys cast members, and wouldn’t think twice about using a Ouija board to find you the freshest Disney Gossip. Some of what she’ll report is confirmed, some is based on information from the rumor mill, and some, frankly, she just read on the bathroom wall in Fantasyland. So take it with a grain of salt and have fun!

  1. Correct, but booking in advance does not give you any advantage of getting the deal. It slows down the process by having to add it to an existing reservation, and if rooms are booked in advance, they are less likely to be included on the offer.

  2. I am a DTA, I am aware that all promos have limited availability. My point is that HAVING a reservation does not preclude you from getting a promo if it comes out.

  3. One of the things I dislike about being a timeshare owner…if you don’t buy a package deal you can’t get free dining. No deal here.

  4. Hoping for the week of 9/20-9/27! As a party of 6, the dining plan adds up for us, so that would be a huge chunk off!

  5. I have been checking daily to see when the free dining is, I can’t wait we plan on going in oct. We haven’t been since 2011, I so have the Disney Fever!!!

  6. If certain resorts/room types book well before the offer is officially released, Disney will pull them from the offer. Already being booked does not guarantee that you will be able to get in on the deal. It will still depend on whether or not there is availability for your room type under the code. All reservation changes must be made by phone, so if you book now you will have to spend hours on hold to change your reservation. Whereas, if you wait to book when the deal is released, you can book online in about five minutes. While you are on hold trying to change your reservation, rooms will be quickly taken by people making new reservations online. This is especially important if the room type you want is limited in numbers to begin with.

  7. Agreed. There is technically no such thing as “free dining”. They will get you one way or another with all the price increases.

  8. I’m right there with you. Planning on late April 2015 and keeping my gingers crossed for free dining.

  9. We are planning April 2015 and of course having free dining before, are hoping for the offer to be available. We haven’t made any arrangements yet, I understand it is too early

  10. I appreciate this “vent” – I, too, feel like I am being nickel and dimed. I honestly feel bad about starting to have negative feelings about such a wonderful place. We have our vacation booked for May. We are FL residents & annual pass-holders, and will be purchasing the DDP. But did we get any type of discount? No. I feel like what’s the point in paying for some special FL resident annual pass when I STILL am dishing out thousands of dollars. To book the Pop for 6 days was $600, the Quick Service DDP will run us $950, and the APH tickets are $70/month. Plus gas money, odds & ends, and probably a table service meal since one of those days will be my birthday and I’d like a nice dinner. Thank God I don’t live out of state or there is no way I could ever afford the air fare! I love Disney and I am so thankful to give my son the opportunities to visit as much as we do. But Disney makes billions a year – I’m sure they can bring some of their prices down a bit – or offer the APH & FL residents a little more of a break.

  11. Arggh – I know I sound like Debbie-Downer, but we’re ALL paying for “free dining” in other ways, whether we take advantage of the offer or not – Disney has raised the prices on everything and we feel they’ve gone way above and beyond the typical cost-hikes that are associated with the typical cost of doing business. We’ve started to feel REALLY nickel-and-dimed at a place about which we never thought we’d start to have negative feelings. Plus, we book our trip and take our kids out of school to go during a time that should have low crowds, then Disney extends the free dining further, then further, then further into the season, so that we end up going during the free-dining-period when it wasn’t the free-dining-period when we booked – meaning we end up going when crowds are high anyway. So that’s my 2 cents on free dining!… what should be a good thing, to me, is not actually “free” like it says it is. Thanks for letting me vent 🙂 Have a magical day!

  12. We love free dining! We’ve never been in September but we might have to plan our trip around that time frame! Yeah Disney 🙂
