For a little fish, she’s making a big splash! Our favorite Blue Tang Fish is swimming to the top of the box office. Finding Dory, the sequel to the 2003 hit Finding Nemo, has reeled in an estimated $445.5 million at the domestic box office. Becoming the highest-grossing domestic animated movie of all time.

This weekend Dory added another $11 million to her total, exceeding the standing leader, Shrek 2’s, $441.2 million total. It’s possible that the pixar film could pass The Dark Knight Rises to become the 10th biggest domestic movie ever. Globally, Finding Dory took in $721.7 million after opening this weekend in Japan, Mexico, and Hong Kong.

With 2016 hits like Finding Dory, Captain America: Civil War, Zootopia, and The Jungle Book, Disney has quickly become the only studio in history to cross the $2 billion domestic mark. Internationally, this year it has already made more than $3 billion for a global total of more than $5 billion. I guess they are taking the quote from Dory to heart, “Just keep swimming!”
