This summer Walt Disney World is offering a Express Transportation Summer Pass for Annual Passholders. Beginning June 5 Annual Passholders can purchase the Express Transportation Summer Pass for $59 per person. The pass will be good for Express Transportation to all four theme parks until August 10 (Passholders must purchase the Express Transportation Summer Pass by July 31).
For Annual Passholders who will be making multiple trips to parks this is a really good deal. Current Express Transportation prices for all guests is $19 for a one-day pass or $29 for up to seven consecutive days.
Have you tried the Express Transportation? I do believe this is one of the best services money can buy while at Walt Disney World. This service is offered not only to Annual Passholders but also to any guests with Park Hopper Option tickets. One pick up location is offered inside each of the four parks (see locations below). Guests are walked backstage to board a bus that will provide non-stop transportation to the next park. The best part is that upon arrival to the next park guests will pass through a backstage entrance an immediately be inside the park. This means no waiting in line at the entrance of the park or waiting in line for another security check.
I used Express Transportation on the debut day of “Happily Ever After,” Magic Kingdom’s new firework show. To say that Magic Kingdom was packed that day would be an understatement. As evening approached I boarded the Express Transportation at Epcot and made my way to the Magic Kingdom. In less than 18 minutes I made it from Epcot to standing in line for the Monster’s Inc. Laugh Floor inside the Magic Kingdom. 18 minutes!! Without Express Transportation it would have taken me over an hour to make this trip. I would have had to walk to the exit of Epcot, board a monorail to the Transportation Center, change monorails at the Transportation Center and then travel to Magic Kingdom. Once I arrived I would have had to wait my turn to enter Magic Kingdom and then make my way through the sea of people down Main Street. The savings of time and aggravation that day was worth every penny paid for this service.
Buses depart every 30 minutes from the following pick-up locations:
- Magic Kingdom – Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin exit area
- Hollywood Studios – Next to Rock n’ Roller Coaster Courtyard
- Epcot – Near Spaceship Earth
- Animal Kingdom – Near Kilimanjaro Safaris entrance
The Express Transportation service just started in December 2016, so it is still a relatively new offering for Walt Disney World. Click here for a full review of the service from another Chip and Co. contributor (note that fees have increased since this review was written).
