I am often asked about the differences in Disney World Resort Categories– Value, Moderate, Deluxe and Deluxe Villa. Each category offers different amenities to guests and with that also comes different costs.
The first tier is Disney’s Value Resorts; this is a great category for families of young ones or traveling on a budget. For a lower cost, quick getaway with my family, I love these resorts! We stayed in All-Star Music when we were first married and starting our lives together. The different resorts in this category include Pop Century, Art of Animation and the All Star Resorts (Music, Sports, and Movies). Each resort has something special to offer without making my wallet cry!
The Value resorts are great, because they all offer different themes, so depending on the mood we’re in, we can get the experience we want! For the Run Disney events, we usually choose All Star Sports, because it gets us in that fitness mood! We also love All Star Movies… in the Toy Story section your toys “move” around the room while you are gone, thanks to some magic from Disney “Mousekeeping”. The new Art of Animation resort recreates some of our favorite scenes from The Lion King, Cars and Finding Nemo. Oh, and don’t miss the wonderful Landscape of Flavors Food Court at the resort!
The Value Resorts also offers options to almost any family or group size. You can stay in a Standard Room, which offers space for four, or a Family Suite, which can fit up to six people. There are also lots of options to get adjoining rooms for groups. While the standard rooms are slightly smaller than the other category of rooms– they are quite comfortable for your average family of four. The food is also amazing! For my money the food court at the Values tops the food court options at any other category of Disney Resort.
My favorite Value resort is the All Star Movies, when my two-year-old son saw how is Woody doll was in a different spot when we got back to the room; he would practically run into the room to see if he can catch Woody moving.
What is your favorite Value resort? Is there a special story connected to that resort, like my family memory? Let me know in the comment box below.

I’ve only stayed at Pop once but the downside is the beds are TINY!
You forgot about The Little Mermsaid rooms at AOA. Our favorite is Pop Century due to it having its own bus and the only place to get tie dyed cheesecake.
