The first tip I give anyone looking for advice on their Disney vacation is to arrive at the parks before rope drop. Rope drop is the time when guests are allowed to enter the parks and those times are often before the posted opening time. The Magic Kingdom has a great show to welcome guests. Cast members and characters arrive by train to sing and dance and get everyone excited for their day. (Not the everyone wasn’t already excited!) It’s a great show! Other parks have more of a soft opening and simply allow guests early admission to the parks.
I would suggest arriving at the parks 30 minutes before the posted opening in order to get through security and to be ready as the park opens. The first hour is the least crowded and you can get through a handful of attractions that may soon have long wait times. Be prepared with your top attractions at each park and head directly to those when you enter each park.
We always plan on being at each park at least one morning per trip and always arrive before rope drop in order to get to the most popular attractions early in the day. It’s well worth waking up a bit early!
If you’ve never been to the parks for rope drop, I highly recommend it for your next trip!

We will be at Disneyworld in October, when the railroad will be closed for rehab. How will this affect the morning welcome show??
On our last trip we went to rope drop for the first time. My sons and I were the only ones on the bus from DASports. The show was great, my boys even collected Micky shape confiti from the show we added to our scrap book. After the show, we got our picture in front of the castle right after the show and walked right on Space Mountain. We met up with my childhood best friend and her family and closed the park. It was the most magical day of my life!
