On the right track to becoming a Disney Addict.

Going to Walt Disney World with a toddler is something that causes anxiety in many parents. There are so many questions and expectations that for some it can be a little overwhelming. My best advice is, flexible planning. Have a plan, know what you want to accomplish, but also be willing to go with the flow when plans change.

The first trip with my son was also my first trip using My Disney Experience and Magic Bands. I knew very little about them, and did the best I could. My second trip using My Disney Experience and FastPass+ was a different adventure entirely. We went for half the time, and did twice the stuff!

How was that possible? By using My Disney Experience and FastPass+. You can use the website, or handy phone app available. I looked up Park Hours, event times, attractions, and character meet and greets. Once armed with my list of must dos, I logged onto My Disney Experience and got to work. Using the app I checked for attractions that had high wait times, and made fast passes 60 days in advance for them. I was also able to choose which times I wanted so that they fit around nap and meal times. You can also select FastPasses for Character Meet and Greets, this was very handy for our family. My son loves the characters, but being only 2, he doesn’t love waiting in long lines. I was able to fast pass some of his favorites and walk right in. There was no worries of watching a meltdown because it was time for a character to get a snack right before our turn. Then I made our dining reservations by just entering the date, time, and type of dining I was interested in. After that I could simply open the app on my phone or web page to see my itinerary, add more things, or make any changes.

All of this information is accessible with your MagicBand. These handy snap bands make toddler life so much easier as well! There’s no digging through the purse or diaper bag for your tickets, room key, FastPasses, money, or dining conformation numbers with these colorful accessories on your wrist. Simply swipe your MagicBand at the Mickey Mouse icons and My Disney Experience handles the rest.

Planning was such a breeze with My Disney Experience and FastPass+, I can’t imagine going to Disney without it now.
