Disney has teamed up with Sephora to release a beautiful makeup collection inspired by Disney’s Cinderella. Joining other makeup companies like MAC, Pixie, Urban Decay, and ELF, Sephora has been bitten by the Disney beauty bug!
So This is Love Spray Fragrance Swarovski Edition $175.00
So This is Love Eau de Parfum Rollerball Fragrance $19.00
So This is Love Eau de Parfum Spray Fragrance $58.00
A Brush With Fate Nail Polish Collection $24.50
I recently picked up two piece from this beautiful collection; the Storybook Eyeshadow Palette and So This is Love Spray Fragrance (while I thought the Swarovski Edition was beautiful, I didn’t want to spend that much money). Today I am reviewing these lovely goodies with you. I’ll be breaking my review down by-product. If you’d like to see more pictures of these products and a ton of swatches, then you can visit my blog, Disney: Done Right! I hope you enjoy this lighthearted look at a makeup collection that I have fallen in love with!
So this is Love Spray Perfume
I am a HUGE scent lover! I have around 16 different full size perfumes in my collection (now 17 with So This is Love) and I have about a bajillion test sized perfumes from my frequent orders from Sephora. I officially have a problem. I recognize that! But I just love perfume! I actually didn’t get to smell the fragrance before I bought it because at my local Sephora, none of the collection was out on display…yay! I even beat the store to the punch! I’m no official perfume expert, but I am going to give you my best description. Here goes nothing…
This perfume is a light fragrance with a romantic feel. When I smell it and think about Cinderella, I think about that classic dance scene from the movie, the “So This is Love” dance. I think about the velvety smooth voice of Ilene Woods. I think about the light as air ballroom dance, Cinderella’s gown floating over the edge of the marble floors, not a care in the world. I think about the glimmering, glittering, shimmer of her dress and the twinkling stars and sparkling water as Cinderella and Prince Charming danced their way outdoors. I think of the smell of a crisp night, fresh and floral with a hint of smooth musk. I think of that first kiss.
So, that’s my take on it. I’m not really good at picking out the notes, but I would say that this perfume does strike a note with my heart. It really is dreamy! I’ve found that the scent isn’t over powering which makes it wearable. This is an Eau de Parfum meaning it contains 7-15% perfume concentrates and should last longer than Eau de Toilette or Eau de Cologne. I have found that this “wears” the longest on me if I can spray it directly on my pulse points (just 1 spray on wrist and spread from there) and finish it off with a spray and walk through. I have found that some perfumes can give me a headache so I was worried about not being able to sampling this one. I ended up loving it and as an added bonus, no headache! The cool thing about Sephora is that you can return any product with a receipt, even if you are returning it because you didn’t like it! But, I don’t think you’ll need to go that route with this beautiful tribute to Cinderella.
Storybook Eyeshadow Palette
I love makeup! Especially the fun, colorful, sparkly kind that makes me feel like a princess! No shocker here that I really love this eyeshadow palette. I have several reasons for loving it and I figured that this portion of the review will work best if I break it down into the reasons I would recommend you purchase it.
1. The colors and the artistic influence that went into their creation!
You can actually read about the color selection and see a screen shot from the movie on Sephora‘s website. I love that the names of the eyeshadows are full of Cinderella goodness! Here are the colors (don’t forget you can see swatches on my blog):
Maiden, all aglow, destined, Cinderelly, pumpkin coach
ball gown, kill joy, Fairy Godmother, glass slipper, royal
Gus Gus, charming, chateau, palace, Drizella,
cinders Jaq, midnight, a wish, and rococo.
*Check out that Sephora link above to see the Disney detail that went into the selection of each name and color!
2. The quality!
These shadows are wonderful! They are smooth, nicely pigmented, and apply beautifully and blend like a dream . They are a velvety and I find that even without a primer, they are vibrant and pretty true to the color of the product in the pan. I like that you get a variety in this palette (some shimmery, some matte, and some glittery finished shadows). This is a versatile palette that can really boost your makeup collection.
3. The Price!
At $55.00 for 20 eyeshadows, this palette is a wonderful value. Just $2.75 each for a pretty decent sized portion. Realistically, you can’t get a drug store version for that great of a deal! This palette really is a wonderful deal!
4. They are Disney!
I don’t really feel like I have much to unpack here. Obviously you are interested in Disney if you are visiting this website! 😀 I love that Disney detail comes to life in this whimsically romantic collection.
So clearly, I hated this collection!
Okay, just kidding! I am in LOVE! I can’t wait for the next reigning beauty to be revealed in the spring of 2013! I can’t wait to get my hands on it! Have you tried any of the Disney Cinderella Collection by Sephora? What is your favorite product? Let’s talk makeup in the comment section below!

I would be interested in the nail polish collection. I loved the Muppet ones from OPI.
