Sadly on November 19, 2013 Diane Disney Miller, the only biological child of Walt Disney, passed away in her home. She had complications from a fall in September.
She was born on Dec. 18, 1933 in Los Angeles. The next day, The Times Headline read: “Mickey Mouse has a daughter.”
She met Ron Miller in College. They Married in 1954 and had 7 children.
She was instrumental in pushing ahead with the Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles. The project was initiated with a $50 million dollar donation from her mother, Lillian Disney. She was also behind the development of The Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco. The museum opened in 2009. The museum is dedicated to telling Walt’s story and preserving his memory.
She is survived by her husband Ron Miller, her 7 children: Christopher Miller, Joanna Miller, Tamara Scheer, Jennifer Miller-Goff, Walter Elias Disney Miller,Ronald Miller, and Patrick Miller, her 13 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.
She had a magical and blessed life. Our thoughts, prayers, and pixie dust go out to the Disney Family.
